Silver Cover - Life and Critical Illness
Silver Cover will ensure that, in the unfortunate event of your death or if you are diagnosed as critically ill during the term of the finance Agreement, the outstanding balance of your account will be paid off. This ensures that you or your family keep the car.
Summary of Cover:
- Covers death or diagnosed critical illness.
- Outstanding balance paid off.
- Maximum amount payable is £50,000.
Gold Cover - Life, Critical Illness, Accident and Sickness
In addition to Life and Critical Illness cover, Gold Cover also provides you with the opportunity to protect your monthly payments in the event of accident or sickness.
Summary of Cover
- Includes all Silver Cover.
- Additionally, includes accident or sickness if you are unable to work for 14 or more consecutive days.
- Further benefits will be paid for every 30 consecutive days you are unable to work.
- Designed for those in full time, continuous employment or self-employed.
- Maximum benefit payable per month is £1500.
Platinum Cover - Life, Critical Illness, Accident, Sickness and Redundancy
Platinum Cover provides a comprehensive level of cover for those who wish to protect their payments against all the above eventualities.
Summary of Cover
- Includes all Gold Cover.
- Cover protects your monthly payments if you are made involuntarily unemployed and are then unemployed for 30 consecutive days.
- Your payments will be met up to £1,500 per month.
- Further benefit will be paid for every 30 consecutive days that you are unemployed.
- Benefits will be paid for up to 12 months for any one claim or until you return to work.
- Further claims can be made if you return to employment for 6 months or more. A maximum 36 month's benefit can be paid for all involuntary unemployment during the insurance period.
- To claim involuntary unemployment you must have been in full time, continuous employment with the same employer for 6 months immediately before being made involuntarily unemployed.
Who Can Benefit?
To qualify for any of the levels of cover you must satisfy the following criteria:
- You must be over 18 at the commencement of cover.
- You must be under 65 when your agreement ends.
- You must be working for at least 16 hours a week in full time employment or be self employed.
- If you are a contract worker, you also must have been in continuous employment with the same employer for:
- - 12 months and your contract has been renewed once, or;
- - 6 months and your contract has been renewed twice.
Exclusions
Benefit will not be paid as a result of any of the following:
- Death, injury, sickness or critical illness arising from a pre-existing medical condition which you knew about or ought reasonably to have known about at the start of cover or consulted or received treatment for from your doctor within the 12 months before the start of cover.
- Injury or sickness arising from normal pregnancy or childbirth, unless there is a medical complication, back related conditions, unless supported by radiological evidence of medical abnormality and some mental disorders including stress.
- If your critical illness occurs within 30 days of the commencement of cover.
- If you know that you are about to be made unemployed when you apply for cover, or receive notification of unemployment within 30 days of the commencement of cover, or you have received payment in lieu of notice.
If you resign or take voluntary unemployment, you are dismissed due to misconduct, or if unemployment is a regular or recurring feature of your job.
